ENJOYED THIS MOVIE
I'd never heard of this movie when I picked it up in DVD shop so I took a chance and bought it. That was 6.50 euro well spent because I was not disappointed. This movie is funny at times, sad at times, thought-provoking at times, but entertaining at all times. Anyhoo, I turned my ringer off so I wouldn't be disturbed. If you like "30 Years To Life" you'll like this movie too. The main reason I like this movie is because the characters are so real: the drunk who puts somebody on blast at the family gathering, the "Oreo" friend (black on the outside, white on the inside), the "Ms. Independent I Don't Need No Man I Got Dental Benefits and my own business" female, the angry one who has that inner turmoil but is taking it out on everybody else, the so- called "Mack" who fronts like he's "The Man" when he's really on lock, the "We need to take this relationship to another level" one,(marriage) and the loud sister, the one who keeps the party going no matter what (Wendy Raquel Robinson). The only thing I didn't like about this movie is that in some scenes women were referred to as "b-----s" and "h--s." Anyway, Guy Torry is an outstanding actor, he acted his heiny off in this one. His character is the one that stood out. But don't take my word for it, take a chance like I did and see it for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

This story takes place in "Pussyville." I am not making that up, nor am I touching that line. Similar to Felix The Cat in looks, we have "Master Tom" as the main figure in this story, which has literally no sound nor sound-effects, just title cards, courtesy of "Paramount Magazine" and a few comic-strip balloons
Basically, the story is Master Tom wooing a female. Their "trysting place," as the card puts it, is a garbage can. We also see what happens when "the cat's away," as five mice trash the house. They're funny to watch.
Without saying more, the ending of this cartoon is really unexpected. It literally made my jaw drop.
Overall, this is extremely primitive and dated but so bizarre that you can't take your eyes off it. It was part of the Popeye The Sailor 1933-1938 DVD set. Look for it under the bonus feature, "From The Vault."

Just finished binge watching the whole first season of this show. It is fantastic. The animation is cool, the voice acting is great and most of all the writing is superb.
Maybe its because I had a similar home dynamic, but never in my life have I seen such an honest portrayal of family life and all the anger and frustration that come along with it. The voice acting is also outstanding from Bill Burr. Most people that play an angry character can make it come off quite cartoonish, yet somehow Bill Burr manages to make a cartoon come off very human by letting the anger build throughout a scene or an entire episode.
I highly recommend this show.

I searched all over for this video, and I was greatly disappointed when I watched it. It's a very dark anime. I would say it's more horror than action. Don't expect anything like the series Bio-Booster Armor. The animation quality is the only thing it has that's better than the series. Get the episode tapes. This OAV is not very good.

I'm a fan of some of his known works, but this show didn't make me laugh even once. A lot of the jokes were just about how much of a prick Rob acted towards people, and it just didn't sit right with me. Like the scene at the book signing in the first ep, how he rushes away because "the disabled people arrived" because he couldn't be helped to wait for them. And that its supposed to be a joke and laughed at just kind of disgusted me instead.
Its a strange concept for a show that could have some promise, but just because of how the jokes are executed and that the character you're supposed to relate to is rich and snobby just makes me feel wrong when watching it.
I definitely won't be watching more of it.

ased upon the novel "The Good Shepherd" by C S Forester, this is the thrilling story of the leader of an Allied convoy crossing the North Atlantic in 1942 as he faces relentless attack by a Nazi submarine wolf pack. The leader of the convoy's destroyer screen is a US Navy commander making his first Atlantic crossing. The story focuses on the his command responsibility as he fights the cold, the relentless night, the brutal sea and his deep fatigue as he chases down the attacking submarines in the deadly game of cat and mouse. The exciting story, a thrilling ride-along with the beleaguered captain, so deeply portrays the elements of battle command that for a long period of time the book was used as a text at the US Naval Academy.

Good to see content from Japan. Great production values.
I found the musical score intrusive and too 'on the nose'. Signaling what you should be feeling now in case you can't figure it out from the script - determination, inspiration, sadness etc. Lush, redundant and mostly saccharine. Especially that damn piano! Coincidentally just having rewatched The Birds which has no musical score at all. Wish there was a separate mute for the music.
Subtitles in yellow often lost on a light background.
A weirdly depopulated Ginza and too-blue sky over Tokyo. The distraction of anime-looking characters thanks to cosmetic surgery especially among the young actresses.
The melodramatic line readings and swelling music when someone said something like, I will make...bras that I like! The simpering overacting and fumbling by the doe Kiritani in the early episodes.
Male characters mostly emasculated or evil. What was up with the coffee guy? Poor schmuck.
Not crazy about the stereotypical work-life imbalance, would like to have seen some of the characters' lives outside of work.
Other than Kiritani, a great cast. In particular could watch Mao Daichi sew and drink coffee all day. Without music and maybe without that Anna Wintour haircut. Her 'regal bearing' is an inspiration, as is her enunciation which is great for students of the language.

This film has a great deal of sentimentality for me, combined with an obsessiveness and awe about all aspects of what I consider to be a truly amazing work of cinematic art and opera, symphonic rock, incredible vocals and spellbinding performances.
I was 21 or 22 when JCS was released in the 70s, and I was obsessively hooked at the first viewing. I estimate that I went to various theaters nearly 200 times to get my JCS rush! Then, years later, I of course purchased the video, and now the DVD. I must admit I was greatly disappointed at the lack of "bonus" material contained on the DVD, but to finally have the ENTIRE film, not the poorly "formatted for your screen" video, I am one happy aging hippie.
Having read other comments and agreed with many, I won't gush on about the superb performances of Carl Anderson and Ted Neeley, Yvonne Elliman and Larry T. Marshall. I must say that, back in the 70s, I found personally that THE most fascinatingly charismatic roles/performances (after Ted Neeley's "I Only Want to Say") were that of High Priest Caiaphas, played by Bob Bingham, and his perfect adorably slimey co-hort, Annas, played by Kurt Yaghjian. And okay, I admit: Anderson, Neeley, and Bingham and the dude who played Peter, just to mention a few of the male cast members, have been MOST pleasing to my eyes at every viewing.
One note on another user's comment: I have always felt that the Israeli Army tanks rolling over the hill, chasing Judas into the temple to crank out "Damned for All Time", represented his inner demons pushing him to begin his "terrible, bloody crime", as opossed to representing the Romans. The Israeli Army jets flying off to "So long Judas . . . Poor old Judas . . . " were the release of those demons, juxtaposing the ancient with the modern, setting the end in motion.
This will always be one of my VERY diverse list of top 10 films!

When elderly mother Edna inexplicably vanishes, her daughter Kay and granddaughter Sam rush to their family's decaying country home, finding clues of her increasing dementia scattered around the house in her absence. After Edna returns just as mysteriously as she disappeared, Kay's concern that her mother seems unwilling or unable to say where she's been clashes with Sam's unabashed enthusiasm to have her grandma back. Wow, saw the first episode of this and hoped the series was going to be ITV's new "jewel in the crown" it's replacement for Downton Abbey on prime Sunday night slot, but boy was I wrong. The initial few scenes looked as if they might have spent some money doing HQ FX but as soon as the actors started to act, and the storyline unfurled, you could see just how poor the whole thing was. The story bears no resemblance to Beowulf at all, so why they called it Beowulf is a mystery. The CGI is pretty good though and they deserve a mention for that. Episode 2 confirmed that to me at least, that the writers have absolutely no clue what they are doing, all the set- ups are blindingly obvious and have zero emotional impact. The appearance of several "moors" for want of a better word, is so out of place in the Beowulf story, I can hardly begin to understand what the writers are trying to achieve. There is no consistency in any of the culture that makes up the backdrop for the series, it's just a vastly disparate collection of characters that have no connection at all. If ITV wanted to make a Game of Thrones challenger it should at least have tried to live within its means, this poor mans attempt at a grand historical drama falls woefully flat.

This will be a short review and driven by passion. As I began watching this show I had absolutely no expectations but 6 episodes in I cannot wait for the next episode. This series has a glorious mix of sci fi, drama and thriller, leaving you thinking about the show after watching it (this I see as a sign of a great show) The characters are really well written, taking different paths but touching at key points making the story easy to follow but also leaves you with a mystery. I really really hope this does not get canceled, I need to know what happens next! Please make this a 10 season show!
Thank you for making this series, I am in awe of the actors and writers behinds this and I hope this will be a long journey

What an epic phrase from an epic leader to summarize what this whole journey has been about. All that suffering the recruits had to endure only to get to that final moment of recognition from the "coaches" that they stopped treating them like recruits and recognize them as peers, wonderful moment to end the season. It is an easy show to watch there are only 5 episodes full of different characters and personalities. At first you think that all those trials are just madness but when the "coaches"start talking about their experiences you start to see there is a reason to that madness. In my opinion it is an awesome reality show there's nothing that compares to it, it is a must watch.

I watched the series Nigella Bites to see what the big appeal of Nigella Lawson was, and I obviously see it now, and so I suppose I had to try this short series focusing on Christmas food. Just like before, she shows us how to make "quick and easy" meals and snacks, ready for the Christmas celebrations. Also like before, Nigella does a lot of sexy stuff with eyes and fingers, says a couple of innuendo lines, and still looks gorgeous, and she knows what she's doing. As for the food she is making, some of it does sound quite appetising, I'll admit this wasn't as fun to watch as her previous show, but it was worth a look. Good!

I personally love this show so much! It took about five episodes to get above just decent, I'd rate the first five episodes a C- or 5.5/10 but after episode 5 I give the show a B+ or 8/10! Clace finally get a bit of chemistry in episode 7, Alec is perfect, the script gets slightly better with every episode I promise! The plot deviates from the books but that just keeps it interesting! The key points and incidents are definitely still there though. Malec is my favourite part of the show. I'm honestly so obsessed with this now and seriously hope it gets renewed for a season 2! That's when the storyline and character development would really get brilliant in my opinion. The cast are getting better every week and the only thing I have against it now really is the CGI/special effects but I get that they're on a low budget so I forgive that. Script still needs work but already seeing improvements as I said. If you are a fan of the books, movie or supernatural fantasy dramas you'll love this!

This movie is truly a classic. I know that some of the actor's skills are a bit suspect, but some of them, like Keira Knightly, had began to show some of their true talent in this film. Also, the script is incredibly witty in some places, and incredibly meaningful in the next. And finally, the idea behind the movie is excellent. 10/10 for me...a TV classic

Sometimes a film comes along that is unique. The Nostril Picker is one such film, The Nostril Picker is like no other film I have ever seen, unfortunately for The Nostril Picker & myself it's unique for different reasons than what the filmmakers had originally intended. Read on & all shall hopefully become clear... The Nostril Picker, as it's commonly know although it was apparently filmed under the title The Changer, starts with some extremely dull shots of an American town somewhere, streets & factory's that sort of thing, as the opening credits play. When The Nostril Picker begins proper we, the viewer that is, are introduced to a real loser named Joe Bukowski (Carl Zschering) who is in his 40's, he lives on his own in a crappy little apartment where he watches T.V., eats beef flavoured dog food & listens to old vinyl records as he dances with a blow up rubber sex doll. Joe likes teenage girls, he has various porn magazines but enjoys the real thing even more. However, being an ugly git Joe can't tempt any young ladies to go out with him, or do anything else with him for that matter. One fateful day an old homeless Vietnam vet (Horace Grimm) sees the agony & pain that Joe has to go through (actually he sees Joe being spoken to by the cops for hassling a teenage girl) & decides to help him out. He tells Joe about an incantation that he learned from the 'gooks' in Vietnam that will transform Joe's appearance into whatever he likes. A process he calls morphosynthesis, but at the same time he warns Joe that 'it makes you crazy if you do it too much'. That night Joe decides to give it a try, in a public place on a podium for some reason. Joe says a few words, does an extremely silly dance & starts yodelling. Joe finishes off by whistling London Bridge is Falling Down, listen yeah, I ain't making this up either. At first Joe is visibly disappointed when nothing significant happens. To console himself Joe tries to buy a porn mag but is shocked when the clerk (Kevin Devoy) refuses to sell it to an underage girl. Joe, the bright spark that he is, realises what has happened & talks his/her way out of it by claiming his/her dad had sent him/her to buy it. Joe, who now calls his alter-ego Josephine (Ann Flood), senses the possibilities & heads straight for the local high school. Joe befriends four teenage girls, Jennifer Armstrong (Laura Cummings), Crisi Stroud (Gail Didia), Tracy Harper (Heidi M. Gregg) & Brenda Kearn (Aimee Molinaro) while under his disguise, oh & Joe manages to become a pupil at the school simply by asking the sports teacher Miss Van Dyke (Vicki Hollis). At first Joe seems harmless enough, he just likes to hang around the girls toilets & stuff like that. But things soon change as Joe brutally murders Brenda. Jennifer's dad, Vince Armstrong (Edward Tanner) is a detective so along with his partner Ed Simpson (Clyde Surrell) & Walt Spencer (Bruce Alden) the pathologist is determined to catch the sicko responsible for killing his daughter's friends, but will they succeed before Joe strikes again? The IMDb listing for The Nostril Picker is wrong, I watched it mere hours ago & it clearly states that it's directed by Mark Nowicki who was also a co-producer & definitely not Patrick J. Matthews who was credited as a co-producer & the cinematographer, not that it makes much difference & I'd have though that Nowicki would have been more than happy for Matthews to take the 'credit' for making this piece of crap. No one involved in the making of The Nostril Picker should be allowed to go anywhere near a camera again, ever. The Nostril Picker is easily one of the worst films I've ever seen, & that's saying something. It's absolutely terrible in every possible way imaginable. The script by Steven Hodge is atrocious, there's no narrative structure, excitement, tension, drama, character development & the things that do happen are so mind numbingly dumb it's untrue. The plot devices & chain of events in The Nostril Picker are totally incomprehensible. The scene where Joe finds out the prostitute (Steven Andrews) he hired is in fact a man & Joe starts to chase him around his apartment with two squirting dildo's is simply jaw dropping stuff. The subsequent scene when the transvestite reports the incident to the police is hilariously written & had me psychically laughing at the dialogue. I hated the ending as well, not only was it predictable but it leaves the door open for a sequel, I psychically shudder at the mere thought! On a technical level The Nostril Picker is awful, point & hope photography, bland & inappropriate music, forgettable locations, poorly edited (Brenda is killed in the kitchen yet her blood splashes on the T.V. screen that was clearly in the opposite room), some of the worst acting I've sat through & very unimpressive special effects which consist of a few cut off rubber fingers, a slit throat & a quick scene where Joe eats some flesh. It comes as no surprise that the cast & crew who worked on The Nostril Picker have virtually no IMDb credits for anything before or after. Even at 76 odd minutes The Nostril Picker is far to long & really boring to sit through. I could go on & on all day long about how bad The Nostril Picker is, I really could. One thing I can't quite work out is was all this intentional by the filmmakers? The Nostril Picker is indeed a unique film, unique in it's awfulness & incompetence. In the the case of The Nostril Picker I hope it remains unique too, having said that it's still not the worst film I've ever seen but it comes close that's for sure. Definitely one to avoid.

***SPOILERS*** High flying and tension-packed thriller involving this plan by a gang of financial crooks to expose a number of Swiss Bank's clients secret numbered bank accounts unless they get 10 million francs from the bank president Johann Hurtil, Ray Milland, and 1 million francs apiece from five of its secret numbered account depositors! And that's a whole lot of Nathan's hot-dogs if you ask me!
Trying to keep the lid on the blackmail plot Pres. Hurtil gets former US Justice Depertment Agent David Christopher, David Janssen, to get to the bottom of what's behind all these threats to expose his client's secret accounts and at the same time keep the police and especially the newspapers out of it. That's in order not to have the bank's other clients withdraw their millions in fear of their accounts, like the one's now threatened to be made public, being exposed as well!
***SPOILER ALERT*** Christopher very soon realizes that all this exposing of bank numbered accounts is not a breach of bank security but an inside job by one or a number of bank depositors! These blackmailers are using their knowledge of the bank's secret account records to feather their own, very hefty, nests and at the same time make it look like their in fact the victims! That's in order to throw off suspicion on them by the Zürich Police Depertment!
Playing it by ear Christopher starts to put all the loose ends together that lead him to be targeted by one of the bank's clients Chicago hoodlum Bob Hayes, John Saxon. Hayes feels that Christopher, whom he had dealings with in the past, is a bigger threat to him then those who made his account , and it's millions of US dollars in it, public! Not playing with a full deck, in his almost psychotic hatred of Christophrer, Hayes completely overlooks the fact that the boys back in the Chicago Syndicate, whom he's been skimming illegal profits off, are a far bigger danger to him then the ex-US Justice Dept, Agent David Christopher! The not too swift, when it comes to using his head, Hayes ends up getting iced or suffocated to death by the two hit-men Krosak & Sando, Curt Lowers & David Hess, that the Syndicate sent over to Zürich to whack him.
It's later when the payoff, now in 10 million dollars in uncut diamonds not Swiss Francs, is about to be made that the very clever-like he's referred to in the movie-David Christopher finally realized who behind this blackmailing as well as murder, with number of people already dead, plot! That leads to the film's exciting and heart-stopping climax on top of the Swiss Alps! Breathtaking final sequence with Christopher, after putting away the bad guys, fading out of the picture and becoming almost invisible. This as the camera pulls back to where Christopher is barley a microscopic speck on the screen against the mighty Swiss Alps that end up completely engulfing him!
The film "The Swiss Conspiracy" also has those two sexy European beauties, both from Germany, Senta Berger & Elke Sommers in it to keep you interested when the action starts to lag a bit. There's also in the film Swiss actors Inigo Gallo & Hans-Jorg Bahl as Zürich policemen Capt. Frey & his assistant Sgt. Schwand. It's Capt. Frey and Sgt, Schwand's Swiss-like precision in their police work that in fact did more to not only capture the bad guys but also prevent David Christopher from being murdered by them!

This is one of those films that starts with a bad title and only gets worse.
If I recall, I saw this at my friend Kirk's tenth birthday party and it was the first time I used the word 'dreck' in a sentence.
'Unidentified Flying Oddball' has all the appearance of having been written and filmed over a long weekend. Edited in someone's basement one night over a keg of beer.
One thing sticks in my memory like an oak splinter: the way Spaceman Tom never called King Arthur 'your majesty' or 'sire,' but instead just plain ol' good ol' 'King.' As in 'hey, King, get yer hands offa my girl, see.' If you like that sort of talk, and your brain development arrested in grade three, then the team behind 'Unidentified Flying Oddball' wants you.
The science was excellent, however. I know now that if I ever need to defend myself from a deathly laser beam, I need only wear the shiniest armour I can find ('Say, King, gimme yer armor! Now don't get all persnickety on me, see? I'll give it back all nice and proper-like, and polished up with good ol' American spit shine').
Disney produced this matted ass-hair sandwich in the days before they became the media Godzilla they are now. Their stock was leaning into the toilet in those days and, hey, so will you after seeing this film.
Incoherent plot, humourless gags, crummy special effects, poor sets. It's not a good kid's film. Not a good film, even though based on a Mark Twain story. But I may change my tune. Perhaps someday I'll see this movie the way I presume it was meant to be seen. On crack.

The action of "Hanna D.-La Ragazza del Vondel Park" by Rino DiSilvestro takes place in various seedy areas of Amsterdam.20-year old Ann Gisel Glass plays a young woman who visits her alcoholic mother(Karen Schubert who would later star in porn films to support her own drug addiction)and begins to delve into the world of prostitution and heroin addiction. The film mixes delicious sleaze with drama as Hanna D. meets many drug addicts and goes berserk from goes drug withdrawal symptoms. There is plenty of sex and full-frontal nudity in "Hanna D." and some nasty drug usage, but if you want realistic Italian drugsploitation flick watch "Amore Tossico"(1983)first.7 anal drug vials out of 10.
