123movieshub Angel Has Fallen
Strong start to the season. The story is fluent and is already starting to build a steady pace. It's nice to see that producers found some good writers for a show. Sunny is a Clipper. A lethal killing machine, He is loyal to one of the five barons, his duty is to protect and serve. But he finds himself at a crossroad when a token of his past returns to his life, He must decide between his duties and his instincts. What was interesting was the show decided to focus on the fort, Only showing us a glimpse of the nightmare that is the badlands.
I want to mention this isn't a show that everyone will enjoy, It is pretty gruesome, It depends on your palate, Personally I enjoyed it.

123movieshub 47 Meters Down: Uncaged
Feels like the show is truly underappreciated. One might even go as far as calling it a hidden gem.
The writing succeeds in creating a gripping, melancholic reality full of subtle emotion, perfectly portrayed by the cast.
The absence of unnecessary flashiness and the convincing look through the eyes of the hopeless and the ambitious leaves me craving for more episodes.
Director: Johannes Roberts
Cast: Sophie Nélisse, Corinne Foxx, Brianne Tju, Sistine Rose Stallone, Brec Bassinger, John Corbett, Nia Long, Axel Mansilla, Khylin Rhambo, Davi Santos
123movieshub Good Boys
Oasis is a love story of truly unique proportions. It is simply unlike any movie you are likely to see.
Confronting, unusual, at times violent, but also heartbreakingly honest.
Lead by a stunning performance by So-ri Moon, and ably assisted by Kyung-gu Sol. The two bring amazing humanity to two very difficult and unusual character. So-ri in particular is brilliant, flawless and complex in her portrayal of the disabled Gong-ju Han. Her performance should be watched by any aspiring actor or actress as it is astonishingly good.
The plot is difficult to describe without it sounding bizarre and unrealistic, but the direction and script transcend any difficulties the subject matter brings up, and ultimately deliver the viewer with an unrivaled experience in what cinema was meant to do. That is, show us life, in all it's intricate forms, to inspire us, challenge us and help us grow.
Oasis is a power-house of modern cinema. An instant classic. It shows difficult characters, going through difficult situations, and the director has refused to water-down any aspect of the film, making it very confronting for the viewer.
Yet another in a growing list of Korean films that have blown me away. Their industry is the best around in my opinion, combining the technical abilities of the big-budget Hollywood films, with the personal, human stories that you would see in European cinema, but doing this with an obviously Asian aesthetic. If you like Kong Kong or Japanese films, I recommend stepping up to Korean films, they are generally more personal, and shot with as much visual gloss as anything from the US.

123movieshub The Secret Life of Pets 2
To start with, this series is undoubtedly a fine series, not a bit like American cheap thrillers; Ian Richardson plays Dr. Bell extremely well, in fact, so well that I think his adaptation of Dr. Bell is much better than his previous adaptation of Sherlock Holmes. Plots are good, characters interesting, setting&costumes acceptable...but the drawback is that this series is too traditional. There's death, love, conflicts, climax and anticlimax, prejudice and misunderstanding, among many other things that are typical of ordinary TV series. The whole series seems like the work of an aspiring writer, promising to be great, but still needs to be polished. To come to the point, as a big fan of Sherlock Holmes stories, I am not in the least interested in how Doyle gains the affections of his fellow female student, or what his school life is like etc. The most things I want to know are METHODS-what exact methods Dr. Bell uses in solving crime mysteries(there's not enough shown in the series)-and which parts of the crime mysteries are later reflected in Doyle's Holmes stories&c, &c. In short, I want the series to be more documentary-like, I don't want it to be an ordinary crime-mystery one.

123movieshub Godzilla II: King of the Monsters
Oh sweet so a Godzilla movie with more giant monster fights with generic plot and lines, COUNT ME IN!
Director: Michael Dougherty
Cast: Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, Millie Bobby Brown, Ken Watanabe, Ziyi Zhang, Bradley Whitford, Sally Hawkins, Charles Dance, Thomas Middleditch, Aisha Hinds, O'Shea Jackson Jr., David Strathairn, Anthony Ramos, Elizabeth Ludlow, Jonathan Howard
This show is this generations Miami Vice. Cutting Edge(pun intended). I hope more people catch on before long. I love the cast. Ed Westwick is amazing as Kent. His "Kill me ,I like to give back" line may be this series "I'm Chuck Bass".
They are getting the 80's vibe across really well. The show is unique. It is just so much grittier than the polished prefabricated crime dramas being cranked out today. The same story lines in different cities with different actors just doesn't measure up. This show is not as predictable as that, which pleasantly surprised me.
Yes I will admit it pushes the envelope but still it's the best thing coming out this fall.

123movieshub Horrible Histories: The Movie - Rotten Romans
This may be funny to Americans. But to worldwide audiences I think this is going to be terrible. It has that horribly cheesy typical over the top American everything about it. I just cant stand it. But It may just be bad altogether. The opening sketch was just... bad. Like you open a series with that... come on. Then the poker table sketch. Typical poorly done over the top humour. Oh wow a straight man arguing with four over the top characters, that hasn't been done before. The acting is still poor. Even from bob odenkirk which I really didn't expect. David Cross most likely ruined everything here as he always does. It just wreaks of his wrongdoings. But he is a polarising figure so if you like that stuff maybe its for you but to most its just garbage. So many better shows out there.

123movieshub John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum
John Wick - Parabellum, is a must watch movie.
It's a brilliant sequel, fulfill my expectation and for me Parabellum is a best action movie in a period times (aside from The Dark Knight). Well, I'm not too excited about the ending because I think John Wick is way much better as a Trilogy.... And I wish, if there is Chapter 4 then it has to be much cooler, extraordinary and more peerrrfffect than the Chapter 3.
Let's go hunt John Wick!

Disappointing movie. If you've watched the trailer then you've probably watched most of the movie already.

123movieshub The Last Black Man in San Francisco
This independent drama on the effects of gentrification in San Francisco played to strong reviews at Sundance. It's also distributed by A24, and their films are generally very high-quality. Judging from its trailer, the film looked to be a mix of understatedly beautiful aesthetics (including some extraordinary cinematography of the Bay Area,) searing character drama, and social commentary. The film is generally well-made, and some aspects of it are undeniably impressive for a directorial debut.
The plot follows a man named Jimmie, whose grandfather built a house in San Francisco on land he purchased during World War II. Today, Jimmie wishes to live in this spacious Victorian house, but its market value has skyrocketed due to gentrification of the neighborhood (and nearby neighborhoods) near where it is located. He begins to develop a scheme with his best friend to move into the house. The film's cinematography is exceptional, and manages to juxtapose both realism and romanticism in terms of how it depicts both the ideals and the realities of San Francisco residents today. Some of the film's shots may remind viewers of Spike Lee's early films, but the film's aesthetic always feels wholly original at the end of the day. The film also uses a variety of other visual and narrative tricks, such as a tableaux vivant-style scene, to help convey the points it is trying to make on how gentrification is affecting relationships between people in urban areas today, much less exacerbating social inequality. The film's simple score is beautiful and almost haunting at times in terms of its elegance and emotional power. The performances in the film are generally strong, as the almost laid-back method acting of the two leads is thoughtful and impactful in its sheer simplicity.
Despite the film's clear achievements on a technical and narrative level that intersects strong performances with aesthetics, "The Last Black Man in San Francisco" isn't perfect. The film doesn't have too many key plot points, which would normally be okay given the film's understated tone. However, the film does feel rather drawn-out in that the narrative doesn't always impact even scenes in which the director is trying to promote substance over style. The narrative's climax is also a bit disappointing. It lacks a clear transition both preceding it and after it, and doesn't quite pack the impact on a viewer in which a film's climax should. That said, the ending is generally satisfying. Also, the film's social commentary is a bit of a mixed bag in that it shows the ways in which gentrification has affected San Francisco--yet it manages to reduce supporting characters both benefitting from and greatly harmed by gentrification to almost caricatures. As a result, the film's messaging on the perils of gentrification in cities comes up just a little short, and clearly falls below the effectiveness of social commentary in films like "Get Out." That said, there's definitely plenty to like about this indie drama. Generally recommended. 7/10

123movieshub Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark
I went into this movie knowing blood was not going to be a thing I was going to see in this film. It is based on a book series for teens after all. Me being a fan of the books as a kid I was super excited when I found out about this and I wasn't disappointed. It isn't a fast paced scare, scare and scare again movie. It takes its time in places but it doesn't feel slow. The CGI and creatures were super creepy and awesomely effective.
Was it the scariest thing I've seen? No.. far from it but I will watch it again and hope it might get itself a unrated version for the more intense moments. I didn't feel like they held back to much like I was scared they would do like they did slender man and sunk it to the bottom of the ocean.
Watch it! It has its harsh moments and it gets vicious at times. Someone even gets impaled and the deaths are shown on screen so don't worry it won't cut away right before the good stuff. It gives you that good stuff tho slightly tame but super scary and effective.

123movieshub The Art of Racing in the Rain
It's a tale that could have taken place anywhere really, given the right circumstances. Street entertainer catching the attention of famous opera star and friendship ensuing. The aging entertainer finds/buys a male child to pass his art to. From there, we follow them through the rigors of their challenging, but free life along the river. Traveling town to town, he performs and has some degree of notoriety. Despite the times and the influences, the man is kind and good.
Overall, the performances are first rate, especially Xu Zhu, who portrays the street performer. The child (Renying Zhou) is beautiful, and downright strong, and withstands the overt prejudices well. The two protagonists, along with supporting help from the kind opera singer, Master Liang (an interestingly androgynous Zhao Zhigang), paint a very interesting tale of forgiveness, sadness and love. Some have mentioned this film's remote similarities to BA WANG BIE JI (FAREWELL MY CONCUBINE); yet this film can't stand easily on its own, any resemblance is remote at best.
My only qualm with the KING OF MASKS, is the ending. It was weak, cliche and about as subtle as a sledgehammer. The audience was already wrapped up in the story, what was the needless manipulation for? What a shame. To bring a fine motion picture that far, only to surrender to emotional (and corny) pathos like that. It frankly made this film good, instead of the classic, it should've been. That aside, the KING OF MASKS is still very well worth your time. I was happy to see the Shaw Brothers are still producing good films. Highly recommended.

123movieshub Dora and the Lost City of Gold
After reading the reviews, I anticipated a terrible movie.
Remember: this is Paquin's debut - 1st effort....I have seen a lot worse.
while full of the normal thriller clichés and obviously working with a low budget, the acting and art direction is surprisingly good... as is the psychological tension/dynamic between the protagonist, his partner, and his captor.
all in all? not bad...
I wouldn't see it in the theatre but it would be worth a one time rental.

123movieshub Blinded by the Light
I was fortunate to see "Blinded by Light" at the Montclair Film Festival last night. The director was present and said (and sang) and few words prior to the film and then did a Q&A after the film.
Using a rating system of 1-10, I give it a "100!!!"
I cried and laughed at Bruce on Broadway but I think I actually cried more and laughed more watching this film.
I don't want to spoil the film for anyone but will point out a few things that really helped the film.
-Characters not only play Bruce songs on Cassette and Turntable but they also on occasion quote lyrics as part of the film's dialogue.
-19 Bruce songs are used in the film
-Some of them are live versions
-We see on the lead character's TV Bruce singing the River for the 1st time (which was at the MUSE concert in 1979 at MSG)
-Bruce's lyrics are transposed on the walls and buildings around the character as they are being played so there is no doubt how meaningful the words were to the lead character
-There is a special surprise at the end of the credits... a Bruce song that was put on the shelf years ago... I believe it was called Stand By Me... beautiful song and apropos for the film.
-Bruce's famous line: "Nobody wins unless everybody wins" really sums up this film and is quoted in the film.
If you have friends and family that don't get you and your Bruce "connection" - take them to see this film! In 2 hours they WILL get you.
THIS IS A LOVE LETTER TO BRUCE AND HIS MUSIC AND HOW HE HAS TOUCHED SO MANY PEOPLE
I plan to take individual members of my family and individual friends to see this when it comes out in August. In the hope that they will turn their head to me and just nod... (I get it!)
BTW: The applause at the end of the film was deafening and when the director returned, she got a standing ovation as well as some "I'm not worthy bows"

I am really becoming tired of coming across some 'generic' users' comments about movies such as: 'With a bigger budget, this film would certainly have been better'Runaway Bride, in my opinion, perfectly belies this too many heard statement: I wonder how many millions of dollars have been USELESSLY WASTED to make this stupid, boring and absolutely not funny movie: it is overwhelmed by clichés and extremely stupid dialogs with a thousand times overused storyline. Moreover, I also wonder how many millions Richard Gere and Julia Roberts 'earned' for their BAD ACTING. But, of course, many people will unfortunately still give some credit to this piece of garbage, for the only reason that the director Gary Marshall had directed 'Pretty Woman' nine years before and that he cast Richard Gere and Julia Roberts. However, here I say: STOP! What is more important than money and will always be in order to make a good movie is THE BRAIN and I fear that this time Mr Marshall lost his. I also sympathize with probable thousands of hundreds of people who walked out of the theaters feeling robbed of their money and with others who will buy the DVD (Moreover, with this awful NTSC standard) Fortunately, I am extremely glad I didn't have to pay a single cent for it, because I saw it on TV. but I still feel that they STOLE TWO HOURS OF MY LIFE, which is infuriating me enough. So I sharply encourage people who think like me to give a 1 to this so-called movie to send it to where, despite its big budget and misbegotten pretension, it belongs: THIS IS A PERFECT CANDIDATE FOR THE IMDb BOTTOM 100!!!
